Fall is in the Air
Step outside and take a deep breath: it’s here, Fall. This season connects to our senses in a way that others fall short. The smell of dried leaves and the scents of baking spices are all around us. The sunlight weakens, the day shortens, and shades of amber coat the world. Crisp breezes blow against us, and we cuddle up in soft sweaters by warm fires. Can’t you feel it?
Fall is an energizing time of transition and new beginnings. We held our fall kick-off recently and the excitement generated by our congregation being all together again after a busy summer was palpable. Kids played in their back-to-school best and held on to the last breaths of summer. Families are starting new routines and Mercy Commons Covenant Church can be a part of it. We are thrilled to be launching a new junior high youth group to serve our growing youth population. The group plans to be focused on growing together, learning God’s word, and serving the community.
Fall also conjures up images of harvest bounty, shared meals, and thankfulness. One way that we as a community can serve within these fall themes is with Loaves and Fishes. This is an opportunity to serve others with a warm meal and share God’s bounty we are blessed with.
Another area revving back up are our life groups. These organic groups are here to serve the fellowship needs of our congregation and are designed to match the age and stage of life you find yourself in. Life groups aim to share in everyday life with each other while we explore the amazing love Jesus has for us every day. Sharing a warm meal or cup of coffee with a life group is the quintessential fall experience.
